Congregational Meeting
July 10 immediately following Worship.

At the Congregational Meeting on April 24, we heard and passed the motion to sell the house behind the church on S. Orleans Avenue, and the committee to oversee the same, consisting of Mark Steiner, HPPC elder and Administrative committee, Heather Shipherd, HPPC elder/member and realtor, and Kristopher Fernandez, real estate attorney and elder/member of Palma Ceia Pres.

This meeting on July 10 will be to hear the proposal and finalize the sale of the house.  Please make every effort to be in attendance for this important vote.

Ilma and Arnel headed
to Brazil on Mission Trip

This past Sunday, Ilma De La Rosa and Arnel Sensen were commissioned and sent with our prayers on a Mission Trip to Brazil. The Missions Committee authorized funds from the Shmid fund to offset some expenses. Please continue to keep the entire community and full mission team in your prayers.

Thoughts from Kim Brannan on the
Cathedral in Seville, Spain

One of the reasons I love to travel is to glimpse God's handiwork in other parts of the world. In addition to adoring beautiful landscapes, museums, artwork, architecture, food, wine and breweries, I particularly enjoy finding what I call "sacred spots."

The cathedral in Seville is one of the three largest in the world. It features incredible Gothic architecture, and there must be centuries and centuries of history preserved within its walls. Oh, the stories it could tell of the hundreds of thousands who have sought sanctuary, forgiveness and solace in this hallowed space. God is certainly honored here. Even though I am Presbyterian, I have been lighting candles all over Europe as I am moved with the power of God and am enthralled with the ability to do something tangible to pray for our world and those I love.

Kids can shop in the Clothes to Kids "store" for school clothes. With each set of clothes, new underwear and socks are given to the student. For the past few years, we've partnered with them by donating new undies and socks, gently used clothing appropriate for wear to school, and money to buy things wholesale.

Learn more about them by going to From now until July 17th, we ask that you "Drop Off Your Drawers" in the foyer or in the Mission Box in the back hallway. Thanks to you, children won't have to worry about what they wear to school and can concentrate on the job of learning.

Time to Nominate Elders!

Email with your suggestion and reason you think they are a good candidate for elder. You may also fill out a paper form available in the foyer and drop it in the offering plate or the envelope in the back. Forms and envelope are also available outside the church office.
Suggestions may be sent to or speak with Committee Members Nancy Corwin, Bryan Alspach, Lynda Waters or Dek Wright.

If you think you might like to serve, it's ok to nominate yourself!

Sweltering heat; but baby, it's cold inside!

There's no hope of cooler weather, but we will experience cooler temps in the Sanctuary for awhile. Rev. James is experiencing a condition which is exacerbated by stress and heat, and will be wearing a bit more casual attire to help as well. So please, grab a wrap on the way to church and enjoy the cool!
