Come and meet our New Members!

These newest members have been attending Worship regularly, but if you haven't had a chance to introduce yourself, then please join us on Sunday!
Bryan Baiss, Carol Besse, Bethany Connelly, Kyle Wagener and Ilma and Ricky De La Rosa attended our latest new members class.

What will YOUR Plus 2 Be?

Have you decided? We're counting on you for Sunday Worship (in-person or livestreaming) plus 2 other things. But wait, there's more!

You can connect with others in a small group like Alpha, Financial Peace or a Sunday School class, and serve as part of a ministry committee, special event or helping with the church workdays. Maybe you'd like to SING in the new music program. So much to choose from!

We need each other, and when you step into WORSHIP+2 you will be amazed at what God is doing in your life. And in the life of this church.

Coffee, Talk & Prayer
9:30 am Sundays in the Hospitality Hallway

Come at 9:30 for coffee, talk, and pray for each other, the church and our community. Meet in the Hospitality Hallway (the coffee bar area outside the office).

Have a prayer request? Email it to or you can post a prayer request on the board in the hallway.

What It Means to be Reformed
11:00 am Sundays in the Conference Room

Triune God, Fall of Man, Redemption ... what's it all mean as to how you live your life? Come to this class as a former Catholic and Presbyterian minister toss it all around and put in your two cents worth.
Rev. James and Brian Malek facilitate the 6-week series.

Graceland Sunday School Class
11:00 am on Sundays starting this week!

Children 6 and up (essentially 1st Graders and older) will gather in the Chapel at 11:00, and then head to Graceland (Room 118) for Sunday School class. If they worshiped with their family in the Sanctuary, then they will already have their name tag and "claim number" that matches their parent or grandparent. If they still need to check in, that can happen at the Chapel Door. Pick up will be at the Graceland door.

Kids Rock Sunday School Class
11:00 am on Sundays starting this week!

Children ages 3 to 5 (age 3 through Kindergarten) will gather in the Chapel at 11:00, and then head to the Kids Rock Room (the one with the sun on the wall) for Sunday School class. If they worshiped with their family in the Sanctuary, then they will already have their name tag and "claim number" that matches their parent or grandparent. If they still need to check in, that can happen at the Chapel Door. Pick up will be at the Nursery (Cozy Corner).

Cozy Corner is the New Nursery
9:30 am - Noon

Infants ages 6 weeks through 3 years are welcome in the Cozy Corner during Worship. At 11:00, 3-year olds will be led to the Chapel and then their Sunday School class. Please be sure to check your littlest ones in and get name tags and "claim numbers" for all!

Real help for a worry-free financial life ...
virtual meetings start Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 8:00 pm.

HPPC will sponsor another Financial Peace University course with money guru Dave Ramsey. The last class was able to celebrate when a car loan was paid off! Learn ways to dump debt, build wealth, and say goodbye to money stress!

Is Alpha for you? You might be surprised!
Wednesday Sept. 15th at 8:30 pm

This small group offers something different for every person, no matter where they are "right now" in their faith walk. It's also a great way "to invite a friend" for a non-threatening introduction to faith. You will meet some new people, and see some old friends.
Everyone is welcome to come check it out!

Meetings via Zoom on Wednesdays at 8:30 pm

Nope, Nope, Nope!
We do NOT ask for Gift Cards!

Neither Rev. James, nor the church office, nor anyone from Hyde Park Pres will EVER ask you to buy gift cards. We won't email you, text you, or call you asking for them. Unfortunately, nice people and nice organizations (like churches!) are targets for these SCAMS. Please do not respond in any way to these requests; just delete or hang up.

Brianna Maxey Graduates from UCF

Brianna Maxey has graduated from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

She is currently prepping for her nursing boards with the NCLEX exam at the end of the month, and interviewing for jobs in the Orlando area.

Congratulations on a job well done, Brianna!

Waiting is over: Get ready to fly on Sept. 12!

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.                    - Isaiah 40:31
This summer our church has been in a cocoon, hopefully resting and renewing our strength. We are ready to fly! Relaunching our church will take strength, and there will be joy as we come back together.

Sunday, Sept. 12 is our Relaunch
9:30 - 9:50 - Coffee, Talk and Prayer
10 am - Worship, both in-person and livestreaming
11 am - Classes for Children 3 and up
11 am - Classes for Adults
9:30 - Noon - Nursery
See you soon!

The Big Red Bus is Coming to HPPC  Sept. 12th!
8:00 am - 1:00 pm

All donors get a $20 eGift Card, a pair of totally cool One Blood Cancer Awareness socks and a T-shirt. Plus, a wellness check including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse and cholesterol screening.

Blood is essential to life: there is no substitute for blood. It cannot be made or manufactured. Generous donors are the only source of blood for patients in need of a blood transfusion. One donation can help up to five people in need. You're someone's type!

If you can, please make an appointment at and use sponsor code #11862 (or search in 33606 and Sept. 12).

Your Missions Ministry has designated September as End 68 Month.

During the month of September, the Missions Ministry wants to thank the congregation for all it has done to make End 68 Hours of Hunger an important part of our community. Beginning in 2014, the HPPC team and End 68 volunteers have accomplished so much to make a difference in the lives of many children in our community.

With your donations of food and money as well as space, you have had an impact that is not taken for granted. This month, we hope you will take a moment to recognize the great impact the congregation has had helping to feed school children during the 68 hours between Friday lunch and Monday breakfast.
Thank you!

Monk Brannan's Chicken Tetrazzini
Featured on Harriet's Florida Kitchen

Creamy, bubbly, golden brown Chicken Tetrazzini, full of mushrooms, pasta, chicken or turkey and just a hint of garlic, sherry and parmesan cheese can take up every pan in your kitchen if made more traditionally, but this much faster version of the late, great, adorable Monk Brannan's is blissfully easy but still tastes amazing!!

Harriet Plyler says "It was the best tribute I could think of to this wonderful friend, mother, grandmother, wife, cook, sailor and tennis player. Bon voyage, Monk."
