Welcome to our new JAMS Families and Welcome Back to our returning families! Our Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) would love to have your support this coming school year! We need your support in two areas:
- JOIN AND COME TO MEETINGS! Annual dues are $10 per person and our monthly meetings are the best way to find out what's going on at JAMS! Join the PTSA today!
- DONATE! Our PTSA provides funding annually for teacher supplies, staff appreciation, campus beautification, library tutors, our theater program, and much more! Our staff and students rely on parent donations to fund these items. Please consider making a gift that is meaningful to your family. The suggested amount is $365 per family - that's just $1 per day to improve your child's educational experience. If you can't make a large one-time donation, please consider a monthly donation, such as $10 or $20. Donate today to support JAMS! If you aren't sure if you already donated during registration, or you have creative ideas for fundraising, please contact Alison Havel at alisonliz@yahoo.com.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and staff at JAMS!
Best regards,
Alison Havel

Parent Volunteers Needed for Student Store at Lunchtime
We are looking for Parent Volunteers to help with the Student Store at Lunchtime. District volunteer paperwork must be up to date. We appreciate everyone's help!
Attendance & what to do if your child is absent or leaving early:
ABSENCES
All absences and tardies must be excused by parents or guardians. Parents should report absences via the JAMS website (click on "Find It Fast" and then "Report an Absence"; or click here) or by leaving a phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. Phone messages should include your child's name, ID number or birthdate, date of absences and a detailed reason for the absence.
LEAVING EARLY
Please let us know first thing in the morning if your child will be leaving school early. You may send your child with a note (to bring to the office before the start of school), fill out the online " Report an Absence" form or leave a detailed phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. The note/message should contain your child's name, the time they will be leaving, the reason for leaving early and a phone number where you can be reached for verification. If advance notice is not given, please be patient with us as we locate your child and bring them to the office. This is especially important during lunch and nutrition when students are spread out all over campus.
Absences that are not cleared within 72 hours will be recorded as truant. For more information on attendance policies, please visit the JAMS website or refer to SMMUSD's Attendance FAQ page.
