Happy November to you all! As we celebrate Thanksgiving- the month of grace, gratitude and giving, let us pay homage and respect to the Tongva and Chumash Nations who inhabited this land along the pacific shores of Santa Monica and Malibu. It is
acknowledged that the San Gabriel Band of Mission Indians/Gabrielino Tongva (“People of the Earth”) and the Chumash (Seashell People) were known as the original inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin and southern California coastal region. In honor of Native American Heritage Month, let us celebrate and honor the history, culture, languages and customs of the indigenous peoples of this land this month and every month.
May you all enjoy the month of Thanksgiving with your loved ones and friends! We give thanks and have gratitude for our JAMS community of families, faculty, staff, students and alumni who continue to support PTSA so we can continue to support our school community!

JAMS CyberDragons Robotics Team!
Saturday November 12, 2022 1-4 PM
Crossroads School
We have our first meet on Saturday, November 12, from 1-4pm at Crossroads School in Santa Monica. This one doesn't count, but it's a great chance for approximately 15 area teams to test their robots' abilities in competition with each other. If you are not involved with the robotics team and would like to attend to cheer us on and check it out, please say "hi" to us there!

League W Meets are held at Crossroads School, Norton Campus Gym (elementary school). The Meets are
not held at the Crossroads High School campus.
Parking & Drop Off
Parking is available in the lot behind the Crossroads gym, accessible from 18th Street. There is also street parking on 18th Street, and metered parking along Olympic Blvd.
General Information
The entire League Meet will take place in the Gym.

Attendance & what to do if your child is absent or leaving early:
ABSENCES
All absences and tardies must be excused by parents or guardians. Parents should report absences via the JAMS website (click on "Find It Fast" and then "Report an Absence"; or click here) or by leaving a phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. Phone messages should include your child's name, ID number or birthdate, date of absences and a detailed reason for the absence.
LEAVING EARLY
Please let us know first thing in the morning if your child will be leaving school early. You may send your child with a note (to bring to the office before the start of school), fill out the online "Report an Absence" form or leave a detailed phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. The note/message should contain your child's name, the time they will be leaving, the reason for leaving early and a phone number where you can be reached for verification. If advance notice is not given, please be patient with us as we locate your child and bring them to the office. This is especially important during lunch and nutrition when students are spread out all over campus.
Absences that are not cleared within 72 hours will be recorded as truant. For more information on attendance policies, please visit the JAMS website or refer to SMMUSD's Attendance FAQ page.
