Hey students, you can name the 2024-25 PTA Reflections Theme!
This year's theme, "Show Your Voice" was suggested by a student in New York. Each year, students from across the country submit their suggestions to their state PTA, who in turn submit finalists to the National PTA. The top entries at the California State PTA level will receive a $25 gift card and will be asked to complete a form for National PTA. The student whose theme is selected by the National PTA will receive $100, and their theme will be presented at the Annual National PTA Convention. Have lots of ideas? Submit the form as many times as you wish, but be sure you don't suggest a theme they've already used (the list of past themes is on the entry form).

Attendance & what to do if your child is absent or leaving early:
All absences and tardies must be excused by parents or guardians. Parents should report absences via the JAMS website (click on "Find It Fast" and then "Report an Absence"; or click here) or by leaving a phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. Phone messages should include your child's name, ID number or birthdate, date of absences and a detailed reason for the absence.
Please let us know first thing in the morning if your child will be leaving school early. You may send your child with a note (to bring to the office before the start of school), fill out the online "Report an Absence" form or leave a detailed phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. The note/message should contain your child's name, the time they will be leaving, the reason for leaving early and a phone number where you can be reached for verification. If advance notice is not given, please be patient with us as we locate your child and bring them to the office. This is especially important during lunch and nutrition when students are spread out all over campus.
Absences that are not cleared within 72 hours will be recorded as truant. For more information on attendance policies, please visit the JAMS website or refer to SMMUSD's Attendance FAQ page.
