PTSA Donations
Dear JAMS Families,
We are writing to ask for your help. Only 8% of JAMS families have donated to our PTSA this school year, but our budget relies on annual parent donations. Did you know that the largest ticket item in the PTSA budget is money we allocate for teachers to purchase classroom supplies? But we also fund staff appreciation, campus beautification, library tutors, field trips, community building events, the theater program, and more.
PLEASE consider making a donation to JAMS PTSA that is meaningful to your family. The suggested amount is $365 per child - that's just $1 per day to improve your child's educational experience. If you can't make a large one-time donation, please consider a monthly donation, such as $10 or $20. Donate today and SUPPORT JAMS! If you aren't sure if you already donated, or you have creative ideas for fundraising, please contact Alison Havel at alisonliz@yahoo.com.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and staff at JAMS!
Best regards,
Alison Havel

Attendance & what to do if your child is absent or leaving early:
ABSENCES
All absences and tardies must be excused by parents or guardians. Parents should report absences via the JAMS website (click on "Find It Fast" and then "Report an Absence"; or click here) or by leaving a phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. Phone messages should include your child's name, ID number or birthdate, date of absences and a detailed reason for the absence.
LEAVING EARLY
Please let us know first thing in the morning if your child will be leaving school early. You may send your child with a note (to bring to the office before the start of school), fill out the online "Report an Absence" form or leave a detailed phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. The note/message should contain your child's name, the time they will be leaving, the reason for leaving early and a phone number where you can be reached for verification. If advance notice is not given, please be patient with us as we locate your child and bring them to the office. This is especially important during lunch and nutrition when students are spread out all over campus.
Absences that are not cleared within 72 hours will be recorded as truant. For more information on attendance policies, please visit the JAMS website or refer to SMMUSD's Attendance FAQ page.
