This month I was inspired by On Drawing, a symposium at Rice University. It was coordinated by the artist Natasha Bowdoin, who I am in absolute awe of, and had a panel with Menil Collection curator Michelle White, Claire Gilman from the Drawing Center, and artist Robyn O’Neil. I left inspired to draw more, not to become a better draftswoman but to do it for the joy of it, to spur my creativity, and to play with ideas before committing to a gigantic painting. I also left as a big fan of Michelle White, who is incredibly wise and said so many things that resonated with me as an artist. I shall now hang on her every word!
