Hello Tennyson parents,
1 week down, 38 to go!
We hope your children settled quickly into the school routine with their new teacher(s).
Welcome to all of the new subscribers to this email list!
For those who have moved on, you can unsubscribe at the bottom of this email.
For those who are not aware, this email list is for parent communications (emails are written by parent volunteers on behalf of PAC). The school email list (emails sent by admin assistant Siaw) is maintained separately. The school sends out the bi-weekly newsletters (which are then put on the school website by PAC ... please see last Friday's newsletter here
) as well as individual class notices from time to time.
This PAC email list is "opt in" only so please tell your Tennyson friends to sign up on the Tennyson homepage at www.lordtennyson.ca
Some important info for you as September rolls along:
Cross Country Running Team
Cross Country is BIG at our school. Thanks to many parent volunteers (lead by Chris Fuoco), over 100 students have the opportunity to run in the morning (MWF) and compete at meets.
All ages are welcome (Gr 2 and under must have an adult present with them).
The first practice is this Wednesday, Sep 16 at 8am sharp!
Hope to see you there.
See more details here.

2014 District Meet
2013 District Meet
First Parent Meeting (PAC)
This Thursday, Sep 17 at 7pm (at the school). All parents are welcome - please come out!
Childcare will be provided.
Our lovely teacher-librarian, Mme Lyse, is now working full-time. This means that the library will be open for students and parents before and after school every day
. The grand kick-off is this Wednesday morning ... come check out some books!
Our website is updated frequently ... check the calendar, upcoming events, blog, etc often.
The answer to your question may be easily found at www.lordtennyson.ca
There is a search feature on the homepage ... just type in a key word.
The latest school newsletter is always posted under Useful Info
Last Friday's newsletter contains information about school policies (supervision, nuts, cell phones, etc). Please check it out here.
I am not going to lie, I have had a few emails already! Are we tired of making lunches?!?
The Quebec fundraising group usually offers lunches (sometimes weekly, sometimes more) as a fundraiser for the Gr 7 Quebec trip. Their first meeting is this Thursday ... hopefully a lunch coordinator will step up soon.
If you are on this email list, you will hear as soon as I know anything but I am sure they will not start before October so go buy some groceries!
In past years, Sushi Monday and Pizza Wednesday have been offered (and sometimes Bonus Fridays with pasta options). Volunteers are always welcome (and loved) ... it is a great way to see your child at lunch. A call for volunteers will come out once the system is in place.
Have a great Sunday evening and a lovely Week 2!
