QECMM Version 10
NMI Creation Requests - Multi Tenancy & Units

Queensland Electricity Connection and Metering Manual Version 10 now effective

Version 10 of the Queensland Electricity Connection and Metering Manual (QECMM) was issued in September 2015 and will be enforced from today, December 1, 2015.

A short presentation of the major changes was provided in a previous Electrical Contractor Update, and full details of the changes in Standards Alert A336.  A list of Frequently Asked Questions relating to Version 10 has been prepared and can also be found on our website.

Multi-Tenancy Dwellings - NMI Creation Form

Electricians working on multi-tenancy dwellings, including units, (3 or more dwellings) should register all units for NMI creation before making application for a Connect Agreement and subsequent linking of the EWR to the Connect Agreement.
NMI Creation requests will be actioned by Energex within 3 working days and a confirmation email will be sent once the NMIs have been created.

It is important that when completing the NMI Creation Form (found under the reference section of the Electrical Partners Portal or on the forms section of the Energex website) that the correct unit numbering is provided.

There have been instances where the unit numbering has required alteration soon after the NMI has been created, resulting in confusion for customers and delays in completing new connections.  It's therefore recommended that a unit numbering plan is included and attached when completing the NMI creation form.
