We are pleased to announce that The Club will reopen from Friday, June 19, 2020 onwards. The Management and staff team have been preparing for the reopening and are looking forward to Welcoming Members Home this Friday. 

The reopening follows the announcement from the Multi-Ministry Taskforce yesterday evening that Phase 2 of the country's reopening will start from Friday, June 19, 2020. Most activities will resume in Phase 2, subject to safety management guidelines being put in place. 

Further guidance is anticipated from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), Ministry of Health (MOH) and SportSG. We are closely following announcements and will share relevant updates over the next few days. 

Outlet Operating Hours, Facility Bookings and Appointments

The Club will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day. Please click here for details on outlet operating hours. Departments such as F&B and Facilities are still operating with lower staffing so may have limited availability, as the Malaysian Movement Control Order has not been lifted.
 
Facility booking for Tennis and Squash have been re-opened. Please click here to book. For Pilates appointments, please email sportscounter@amclub.org.sg or Whatsapp 8218-5646. 
 
All services at sên Spa will resume. Please email spa@amclub.org.sg if you would like to book an appointment, though please anticipate a two-week lead time.

Reservations-only Usage of Shared Facilities

Shared facilities such as the Gym, Swimming Pool, The Quad and The Quad Poolside will have capacity limits, so we are introducing reservations-only, advanced booking to facilitate Member access and avert long wait times, particularly during peak periods. Bookings may be made in person or by calling 6739-4312 (Gym), 6739-4450 (Aquatics), 6739-4444 (The Quad) and 6739-4432 (The Quad Poolside). For your added convenience, a mobile app will be launched very soon for such bookings. Access may not be available if you do not make a booking.

Virtual Programs and Activities to Continue 

Virtual activities and programs will continue until further notice, as group sizes for most activities on-site at The Club are currently limited to only five participants. We will provide more information as details are announced in the coming days.
 
Our Commitment to Care, Safety & Cleanliness

At The American Club, we are committed to creating a safe haven for Members, their families and the staff team. We have greatly enhanced our cleaning and maintenance protocols, and we are cleaning all surfaces and high-touch areas every 30 minutes. The Housekeeping team uses hospital-grade Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (QAC)-based alcohol sanitizers and industry-standard portable electrostatic sprayers for cleaning outlets and furniture. We have also incorporated disinfectants into the servicing procedures for all air-conditioning and ventilation equipment. Our disinfection procedures are in adherence with the National Environmental Agency (NEA) guidelines and we will continually adapt our approach in accordance with new guidelines.

Safe Management Measures
 
The following Safe Management Measures will be in place when The Club reopens.  

Safe Management Ambassadors
Almost 50 of our staff have undergone training as Safe Management Officers, supported by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Tripartite Alliance for Workplace Safety and Health. More than 30 staff have also been designated Safe Distancing Ambassadors, and they will be identified by a yellow armband. Safe Distancing Ambassadors will ensure adherence to The Club's Safe Management Measures, which are in line with regulatory requirements. Safe Distancing Ambassadors will be roving around the Clubhouse conducting inspections and checks to ensure compliance with safe and socially responsible behavior. Members must follow the guidance of The Club's Safe Distancing Ambassadors. 
 
Following the Guidelines
In the period following The Club’s reopening, government agencies, including the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and Enterprise Singapore (ESG), will step up enforcement and take action against organizations that have failed to execute Safe Management Measures. This may include issuing stop-work orders and financial penalties, so The Club may be closed if Members and staff do not follow government guidelines. All Members and staff must adhere to the Safe Management Measures and the guidelines put in place by The Club to safeguard our Club community and to ensure that the Clubhouse remains open for all to enjoy.
 
The threat of COVID-19 is still present. It is pertinent that we continue to exercise caution during this post-reopening period to mitigate the risk of a community infection. In the event that any Member or staff tests positive, The Club may have to close again. 
 
SafeEntry
The Singapore government’s mandatory SafeEntry requirement will be put in place. Members must facilitate contact tracing by registering their entry or exit or scanning a QR code to Check In or Check Out when they enter or leave The Club. With the implementation of SafeEntry, Members will not be required to submit Travel and Health Declarations.
 
TraceTogether
Members are encouraged to download and install the TraceTogether mobile app, to support Singapore’s efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19 through community-driven contact tracing. TraceTogether notifies you quickly if you’ve been exposed to COVID-19 through close contact with other TraceTogether users, and allows MOH to give you timely care and guidance, thereby protecting you and your loved ones.
 
Member Entry and Exit Points
Member entry points will be at the Claymore Hill main lobby entrance, the turnstile entrance at the car park for Members arriving by foot, and at the car park entrance for Members arriving by car. The Scotts Road entrance will be for Member exit only.
 
Access Control
As entry points are access-controlled, Members must carry their card and tap in at the entry points to enter The Club.

Safe Distancing
Members are reminded to practice safe distancing and avoid congregating in large groups. Individuals must maintain a minimum one-meter buffer at all times throughout The Club, including seating areas and queues.
 
While small-group gatherings of not more than five persons may resume, no mixing between groups is permitted and a one-meter buffer must be enforced between groups.
 
Please be mindful of safe distancing markers in elevators and give way to Members with the greatest need for elevators. Please also adhere to the safe distancing markers for seating in common areas. The Club may request Members not to gather in common areas if particular areas become too crowded and safe distancing is compromised. 

Members must follow the guidance given by Safe Distancing Ambassadors relating to social distancing and group sizes, and disciplinary action may be taken if Members do not exercise social responsibility.

Face Masks
Members must wear a face mask at all times, except when exercising or dining.
 
Personal Hygiene
Members are encouraged to practice good personal hygiene. Washing your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap is one of the best ways to safeguard your health. If a washroom is not available, please use the hand sanitizing stations that are readily available throughout the Clubhouse.
 
Gym Etiquette
Members must disinfect all Gym equipment, including machines, free weights, and exercise mats, immediately after use, using the disinfectant wipes that are conveniently located within the Gym. All personal trainers will be doing the same and the Gym staff will also be stepping up on such cleaning every hour. Protecting the health and safety of all Gym users and staff is a joint effort.
 
Suspension of Guest Access to The Club
The suspension of guest access to The Club will remain in place. This means that Club access will only be available to Members, registered children under the age of 12 (accompanied by their parents), registered Junior Members, registered Visiting Members, Senior Dependent Pass holders, and registered amahs or drivers.
 
Registered card-carrying amahs may bring Members’ children to Club programs and camp activities when these resume on-site. Registered drivers may drive Members’ cars into The Club car park and wait at the designated waiting area.

Our highly convenient delivery services will continue to operate post-reopening. Savor your favorite meals from The Club with TAC2Go!, our food & beverage takeaway and delivery service. Telecommuting
The Singapore government has mandated that telecommuting must remain the default for all businesses where feasible. Our administrative departments will continue to work on split team work arrangements with some working from home.
 
Social Responsibility
Members are reminded to play their part and exercise social responsibility to keep Singapore and our Club community safe. Members shall not come to The Club if:
  • You are staying with someone who is serving a Stay-Home Notice.
  • You or your family members have returned from overseas travel within the last 14 days.
  • You or your family members are unwell or have a medical certificate that requires or recommends that they stay home for at least five days.
  • You or your family members have had prolonged interaction with someone who has or is suspected of having COVID-19.
Members who do not exercise social responsibility may be subject to disciplinary action. 

We are excited to welcome you home and the Club team is dedicated to making The Club a safe haven for you and your family.
