NOVEMBER ISSUE 2017

  LEADING HOUSTON FORWARD

Legacy Luncheon

In November, YES Prep hosted the Legacy Luncheon, celebrating 20 years of YES Prep history and honoring founder Chris Barbic. The event drew more than 400 attendees and raised over $1.2 million for YES Prep students. We are deeply grateful to our event chairs, Lori and Chip Johnson; honorary chairs, Laura and John Arnold; and the generous event underwriters.

  STUDENT SUCCESS

Senior Spotlights

In our senior spotlight series, we follow YES Prep seniors from each campus as they set goals for their futures, apply to colleges, and make one of the biggest decisions of their lives. This month, you'll meet seniors from Fifth Ward, Northside, Southwest, and Gulfton.

  PATHWAYS TO OPPORTUNITY

Partnerships Expand Access

YES Prep is partnering with ProUnitas and Legacy Community Health to expand student access to support programs and health services. Through these partnerships, we can help to eliminate non-academic barriers to student success and meet families' basic needs.

  SPOTLIGHT

Alumni Spotlight

YES Prep North Central alumna, Mayra Valle, now works for the Posse Foundation, helping students prepare to transition to college. Read about her work at Posse, her plans for the future, and what she carries with her from YES Prep.
