Elementary Expansion Front and Center at Third Annual Leading Houston Forward Luncheon

Over $1,000,000 raised to support YES Prep's 19 campuses and opening of first two elementary schools

Almost 97% of our students are in A or B rated schools and are outperforming full pre-K to 12th grade programs, just imagine what we will do when we open elementary schools,” remarked CEO Mark DiBella about the charter school’s plan to open 10 feeder elementary schools over the next five years at YES Prep Public Schools’ Third Annual Leading Houston Forward Luncheon, that took place on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Wortham Theater Center.

13th Annual College Fair Include Array of Post-Secondary Options

3,000+ juniors and seniors visited with over 150 colleges and military institutions

In commitment to YES Prep’s belief that All Means All, students had the opportunity to engage with a diverse array of institutions, including community colleges, Ivy League universities, state schools, military academies, and other post-secondary options including programs for students with disabilities and those interested in the military.

YES Prep Students Receive Mobile Hotspots

YES Prep partners with Sprint's 1Million Project for the third consecutive year to provide reliable internet access

For the 3rd consecutive year, YES Prep is proud to partner with Sprint’s 1Million Project to provide reliable internet access to our high school students. The 1Million Project aims “to help 1 million high school students who do not have reliable Internet access at home reach their full potential by giving them devices and free high-speed Internet access.” This year, YES Prep is distributing an additional 400 new mobile hotspots to our high school students.

2019 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award

Leigh Anne Rayburn teaches AP English at YES Prep Southeast

On October 9, and in front of the entire YES Prep Southeast senior class, State Senator Larry Taylor presented Leigh Anne Rayburn with the 2019 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award. Around 700 teachers were nominated, and Rayburn was among this year’s twelve winners.
