Pattaya is considered by many to be merely a resort city catering to holiday makers and retirees from around the world. It is true that the golf, beaches, shopping and nightlife are all strong pull factors which bring visitors here.

Years ago the neighborhoods on the east side were referred to by locals as "the dark side", because it is not in the middle of all the bright lights of Pattaya. Visit here and you will find abundant services which cater to the needs of residents. And you are still less than 15 minutes away to central Pattaya.

With the extension of Highway 7, the railway bypass road and Route 36, you can get to work, the airport and Bangkok in less time than traveling from the city center. One of our clients just moved from a condo in Wongamat to a house near Mabprachan Lake and his drive time to work is shortened by 30 minutes.
The point is that suburban areas east of Sukhumvit Road are popular with families who live and work here. You will find spacious homes in secure villages, a bit of a garden and many with private pools. This is also the part of town where the best international schools are located.

Earlier this week I enjoyed the 4th of July celebration with area expats. This year's celebration was different as I decided to explore East Pattaya venues. 

The Blue Moose Grill had a big feast including all the traditional favorites; hamburgers, hot dogs, deviled eggs, Italian sausage, ribs and more. Then it was on to Bees Nees bar to get "ribbed" about America's independence day parties by the largely Aussie clientele. 

If you have not visited the east side of Pattaya recently you should have a look. It is really a great place to live. Give me a ring anytime and I'll be happy to show you around the neighborhood.
