When it's time for a change, and low sugar chocolate ice lollies!

When you know it's time for a change

Change is a huge theme in my life right now.

Of course, expecting my first child is a pretty big life change, but so many other things seem to be coming along with it. I'm not naturally suited to change, as I talked about in last months newsletter, I like my routine, and admittedly, playing it safe sometimes.

Often we know that we have to make a change if we want a different result. This quote always springs to mind for me:

We want things to be different, but unless we change something, why should we expect to get the same results?

I see this time and time again, people that stick to that same diet plan for years while still struggling to achieve significant weight loss. Yes it can be scary to try something new and make that change, but a push outside of your comfort zone, whatever it may be related to, is always going to benefit you. Feel the fear and do it anyway! Try that exercise class you've been scared to go to because it seems 'cliquey', ditch the diet that isn't working for you, try something new and make a change - because sometimes that's the only way you'll get the results, and life, you want.

What can you change today to help get you closer to where you want to be?

Maybe you've slowly been changing but other areas of your life haven't caught up yet. You've embraced leading a healthier lifestyle, but still cling to some old habits.

For me, I've been slowly changing for a long time, but other areas of my life haven't quite caught up yet. Time to make those changes, however scary they might be. First things first...

A new blog name! Keeping Healthy Getting Stylish doesn't feel like the right fit for me or the blog any longer, so watch out for some changes coming to the blog soon. I'll still be blogging about the same things, but hopefully there will be some improvements too.

I'll also be giving this newsletter a make over and starting to give you lots more free stuff, so share this newsletter now and encourage others to sign up ready for those freebies!

Recipe - Low sugar chocolate crunch ice lollies!

Now that the weather is warming up an ice lolly is one of my favourite treats! This creamy chocolate version is packed with healthy fat and tastes great, with less sugar than most you can get at the supermarket or ice cream van!

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1-2 cups coconut water or coconut milk drink (like Koko)
  • 2-4 tbsp of rice syrup (if needed, coconut water is quite sweet)
  • cacao nibs for crunch (optional)
Place all the ingredients (you can choose if you'd like to blend the cacao nibs in or add them at the top as I did) and blend until smooth and creamy. If adding a crunchy top, sprinkle a few cacao nibs into each ice lolly mould before spooning in the mix. Leave to freeze until solid.

Will keep in the freezer for a couple of months, Enjoy!

June Healthy Living Prompts

  • Make a conscious effort to start increasing the amount of raw foods you eat. At this time of year, our bodies are way more suited to cooling raw foods, and as these are naturally detoxifying, they'll help give you more glowing skin ready for the summer!
  • Check in on your hydration, it's easy to let good habits slide when it comes to drinking plenty of water, so refocus on this if needs be. Try coconut water as a refreshing alternative too.
  • Throw a healthy BBQ! They don't have to be unhealthy if you plan ahead a little. Bun free burgers, chicken and veggie kebabs and big veggie and fruit based salads are perfect.
