I was delighted to get so much feedback from my last newsletter.  Great to know that you are finding the information useful.  Many people were positive about the idea of a media unit/ creative hub for neighbourhood houses.  There have been some exciting developments since the last edition - read to the bottom to find out more!

Reflection and Direction Setting
17 August

Catch the train to Allwood Neighbourhood House!  It's about a five minute walk from Hurstbridge station. It's a beautiful train ride in August, particularly through Wattle Glen and Diamond Creek when the wattles are in full bloom. We've already had a number of bookings, make sure your organisation is represented at this important day.   This will be a chance to reflect on where we up to with our current strategic plan and look towards the future.  The session will be facilitated by Maureen McConnell, Networker Community House Association of Outer Eastern Suburbs. Book here.

Committee of Governance Annual Dinner 19 October

It's time to treat your committee members!  Buy them tickets for Annual Networking Dinner for Neighbourhood House Committees of Governance.  It's only $40 for 3 course dinner including drinks.  Please book now, bookings will close on 10 October.  The dinner is at St Georges Restaurant which is a hospitality training facility for Melbourne Polytechnic.  Book here.

Lights, camera action!

A big thank you to Banyule City Council for an equipment grant for a camera, tripod and light kit!  I'm very excited that the media unit concept is gaining momentum.  I have just started working with a production company to make a short video on the neighbourhood house community development process. Watch this space...

Thank you to the members who responded to the last newsletter, cheering me on. It's encouraging to know that we are heading in the right direction.

I hope to see as many members as possible at the Reflection and Direction Setting Day 17 August.  Don't forget to book so we have enough soup for everyone.  Register here.
Bye for now
