THE SHOW MUST GO ON:
SING-ALONG-A-MUSICAL

We've had great fun planning our second online Second Tuesday event

Tuesday 12th May at 7.30 pm

Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, The Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain, The Sound Of Music, The Lion King, Jungle Book, Grease, Rock Horror Picture Show, My Fair Lady,  Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story ...

Whatever your favourite West End Show,
join us to sing-along as we share a selection of our favourite show songs. We will be sharing clips from the shows with the words to the songs included

And the great thing about connecting on zoom is that when you sing along at home no-one else can hear you (apart from the dog or the cat!)

So even if you'd never normally choose to see a West End Musical, we're in the 7th week of lockdown and we miss each other - so why not just join us anyway to say hi and have a catch-up?

So here's the plan for the evening:
7.30pm - join for Part 1
Interval
8.30pm - Rejoin for Part 2

STC will host the session on zoom
if you want to join us to sing or listen to others here's the link for the evening:

A MESSAGE ON BEHALF OF THE FRIENDS OF STREATHAM HILL THEATRE

LAST CHANCE TO HELP SAVE STREATHAM HILL THEATRE

The Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre set up a crowdfund appeal earlier this year to raise £36,000 for a feasibility study into the viability of reopening the building, returning it to its former glory, and bringing it back into use as a multi-purpose arts and cultural venue, creating new opportunities and benefits for the local community.

The good news is that the campaign is now less than £5,000 (currently £4,200) away from and within touching distance of the target. With the final deadline of 25 May just 2 weeks away, STC is proud to have recently pledged our own support.

In its early years STC's profile was much enhanced by our association with Streatham Hill Theatre, as several of our early performances were located within the Streatham Hill theatre complex.

A last minute flurry of pledges could make all the difference. If Friends of Streatham Hill fail to meet the target by the deadline they will lose all the money pledged so far.

So, please, consider joining STC in making a pledge, either as an individual, group or society before the deadline of 25 May. Please pledge at
save.streathamhilltheatre.org

Please note that any pledge you make will not be taken from your account until the full amount is raised.

SO PLEASE HELP - THANK YOU

THINGS TO DO IN LOCKDOWN

Why not look back over the photos and videos of our past shows and events, and if you have any photos of our activities you would like to share, please email them to us (or email us a link). You can also find programmes and posters from our past shows in our show archive.

If you are a writer, or want to have a go at writing, get started on a 10 minute piece for our regular Streatham Shorts programme (here’s a past flyer for it). Or if you are writing a longer piece perhaps we can potentially read and/or stage it when normal service resumes.

We are also putting membership subscriptions on hold. So if you are a member, or join us, during the shutdown, your subscription expiry date will be extended for the length of the shutdown. For example, if your subscription expiry was April and the shutdown lasts 3 months, the new expiry will be July.

Please keep following us on social media and keep an eye on the website for updates and any future events.

We wish you all the best during the current crisis and look forward to seeing you when things get back to normal!

Streatham Hill Theatre

The campaign to save the former Streatham Hill Theatre has also been hit by COVID-19 so please if you haven't already joined the campaign or pledged please do so if you can at save.streathamhilltheatre.org.

Their latest newsletter is here.

We support the campaign and have written in their support.
