SHERMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PUMPKIN FEST

DATE:  SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20th

LOCATION:  SHERMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 

Sherman Elementary School is a nearby public K-5 school on Union Street at Franklin. The PumpkinFest is Sherman's annual fall family carnival and fundraiser. It is free and open to the public,  donations are appreciated! The PumpkinFest will feature carnival games, a bouncy slide, a spooky haunted house and a less spooky kid-zone, pumpkin sales, and food trucks. It is sure to be a great time for all! Halloween costumes encouraged!

NORTH BEACH HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA

DATE:  SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28th
TIME:  2PM - 5PM 
LOCATION:  JOE DIMAGGIO PLAYGROUND 

This year marks 11 years that the Friends of Joe DiMaggio have brought neighbors and friends together for some Pre-Halloween fun. This year they will have a haunted house, performers from Circus Bella, the Bubblesmith, bouncy houses, crafts, food for purchase, costumes, music, and signature in-playground Trick or Treat Street.

If you would like to participate in Trick or Treat and set up a "block" on the blacktop, please see these guidelines, and email friends@dimaggioplayground.org to register.  The beautifully remodeled playground and park has made this event even more special, bringing in over 400 people last year. And they have managed to keep it a free event all these years through the generosity of local sponsors and donors. Please help them continue this Halloween tradition by making an individual donation or by sponsoring the event. Sponsors have the option of being featured on event posters, online promotions, and day-of displays.

TIME:  5:30PM LEAVENWORTH TRICK OR TREATING
LOCATION:  LEAVENWORTH BTWN FILBERT & LOMBARD 

The strip of Leavenworth between Filbert and Lombard is usually a great place to gather in costume on Halloween evening and trick or treat with kids in the neighborhood! In years past, many of the houses have given out treats for kids, and a few even invite the neighborhood in for a spooky house tour or an adult beverage. For those who do not live along the route, you can set up folding tables to hand out candy on the sidewalk along the route, or just come for the trick or treating! 

Please note that this is an informal, low-key, family friendly gathering for the neighborhood and the Leavenworth residents would like to keep it that way, so if you are looking for an all night party this is not the spot for you.
