Q&A: What kind of vitamins could I take for my eyes?
  • MacuHealth vitamins are composed of 10mg Meso-Zeaxanthin (MZ), 10mg Lutein, and 2mg Zeaxanthin.  These potent anti-oxidants are known as macular pigment (MP) carotenoids, which is essential for optimal visual function.
  • This is the only formula containing all 3 natural macular antioxidant in the ideal ratio for optimum Macular Health and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) protection.
  • Bottom line, supplementation with MP carotenoids can enhance vision in non-diseased, diseased eye, and may reduce risk of AMD's development and/or progression (see picture results below).
We now carry MacuHealth in our office.  Please call for more information.

Eye Condition Spot Light: Age-related Macular Degeneration
What is Age-related Macular Degeneration (ARMD/AMD)?
AMD is a disease associated with aging that gradually destroys sharp, central vision. This condition affects the macular part of the eye that allows you to see fine details.

How is AMD detected and what symptoms will I have if I were to have AMD?
AMD is detected when your Doctor takes a look inside your eyes during an eye exam.  A common symptom is the gradual loss of your central vision.

Could AMD be treated?
Yes.  Depending on what type of AMD (wet/dry) and what stage of AMD you have, different treatment options are available to help save your vision.  This range from taking eye vitamins such as MacuHealth, to lasering and vitreal injections as needed.

Below are picture results of AMD patients before and after taking MacuHealth vitamins.
