DOVE Project Aims to Preserve History

Brian Daugherity (History), is the co-chair of the DOVE project which was created to find, catalog, and encourage the preservation of records that tell the story of Virginia's school desegregation process. “If we can locate new records, it allows us to tell the story that much better,” Daugherity says. They are interested in the experiences of students, parents and educators in VA schools and colleges from the mid-1940s to mid-1980s. Contact them and tell your story here.

Do you know a VCU graduate who should be considered for a Volunteer Service Award? VCU Alumni's Volunteer Service Awards honor alumni who have worked with particular devotion to serve the VCU community. Submit your nomination to Bethanie Constant by June 24th. You can nominate alumni for one of nine awards as long as they meet the criteria for that specific award.
