 DR. CHRISTOPHER STREMME IN SUMATRA:

Course participants and lecturers

While Asian Elephant Support’s funding to Dr. Stremme focuses on elephant needs and issues, his work at the veterinary university in Aceh needs to address all wildlife that share the same ecosystem.  Recently, Dr. Stremme invited reptile expert, Dr. Sonja Luz, WRS Director for Research and Conservation, to lecture, provide practical demonstrations, and hands on training with his students.

These are the future veterinarians who will be responsible for the care and conservation of all of Sumatra’s wildlife and we wanted to share some of the workshop pictures with you.

Dear You,

I'm kind-of cute to look at, waving with my trunk.
To capture your attention, hoping you'll pick up.

All my friends have gone, to their forever homes.
And now I'm left alone, with no-one to call my own.

Oh so very tiny, I don't use much space.
I want to bring a smile, to your lovely face.

Blue is just my color, that I cannot change.
It's the way I was made, on that happy day.

Crafted for AES, by a pair of loving hands.
To help many elephants in the foreign lands.

Would you consider, a donation for me please?
And help the Asian elephants and receive some love from me.

Sincerely,
Blue

Celebrating a DAMN Good Feelin’ !

We are feeling so Damn Good because of you!
With jolly-high spirits, AES is celebrating generosity!

From mid-February to mid-March, The Elephant Pants e-store, graciously offered to give AES $2.00 from the sale of every pair of purple Drona pants sold. AND WOW, Ya-all stepped up! Within the first week, supplies were nearly sold out!

With a generous heart, The Elephant Pants e-store, extended their support for Asian elephants by offering an additional pair of pants!

The Elephant Pants e-store’s dedication to helping animals (and people too), is reflected in the quality of their products. And it is obvious to AES that you-all recognize this quality too, as the combined enthusiasm raised $1254.00 for Asian elephants!

AES is looking forward to another event later this year and another opportunity to feel Damn Good while helping elephants! So, please tag The Elephant Pants e-store website, and learn more about them and their very cool products:

So to You and The Elephant Pants e-store, you’ve made Asian Elephants feel DAMN GOOD!

Houston Zoo, Oregon Zoo, and Woodland Park Zoo.  These three zoos have partnered up to help save the Bornean elephant by mitigating human-elephant conflict due to rapid habitat loss.  AES would like to thank these institutions for their commitment to the most endangered and rare of Asian elephants.  Read more here

Test Your Elephant Knowledge!

Many south east Asian countries use the word Gajah for elephant.  It is derived from ancient Sanskrit, a language that is over 4,000 years old.
