Stewart's Stewings

What a week it has been my friends. Tomorrow we will remember the Baptism of Jesus together. It is a good day to come together in prayer - to repent, reflect, and renew our promises to God and to another. Our call as Christians is to speak the truth in love to one another and to systems. Then we are challenged to use the gifts we have been given to do the difficult work of reconciliation, bringing forth justice with an emphasis on the poor and marginalized. This is the way of love that Jesus lived and commissions us to live. We cannot do it alone. So come be with us tomorrow as we continue to rebuild our own lives, our church community, our country and the world.

Our special guest for conversation after the 10:30 am service will be Bonnie Bessor, Executive Director of
Rebuilding Together Baltimore. RTB is committed to repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives by creating safe homes and communities for everyone.

Faithfully yours,

The Church office will be closed for in person visits for the month of January. If you need something from the office, please call or email us to make arrangements. Carolyn and I will be here regularly, but we want to be making the wisest decisions for all involved. If you do not get one of us on the phone, please do leave a message. We get those on our email, and we'll respond as soon as possible. If you have donations for the food pantry, just leave them on the ramp entrance, and we'll get them delivered.

P.S. I'd like to restart our email prayer chain. If you feel called to intercessory prayer for members and friends, please email me

Delaware-Maryland Synod King Commemoration
On Sunday, January 17 at 3pm, there will be an opportunity for worship around scripture, prayer and song in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Gathered under the theme, Martin’s Dream: Earlene, Kamala and the Future, Pastor Laura Ingersol will be our speaker and many members of our synod will offer gifts as part of our worship. The gathering will be hosted on our synod’s Facebook and YouTube channel. We are grateful for the efforts of our Delaware-Maryland Synod Chapter of the African Descent Lutheran Association, our Synod’s Racial Justice Team, and CLAIM/Baltimore, who are sponsoring this year’s commemoration. The gathering will be available, on demand, after the premier at 3pm.
