Novel Features

Gila Monster | 2014-12 Release. The innovations contained within this latest release are numerous and significant. They include a fundamental redesign of the sentiment analysis component (context-aware disambiguation), granular source management (flexible tab definitions on the fly), and the addition of the increasingly popular Instagram platform as a new social media channel. Various visual analytics components (cluster map, word tree, entity map and geographic projection) have been improved in terms of data quality, interaction design or visual representation.

Expert Workshop

Slides | Semantics for Integrated Monitoring. The DecarboNet Project and the webLyzard platform were presented at an expert workshop organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) - hosted by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in early December. A live demo and follow-up discussion focused on how to extract and visualize environmental knowledge from online sources, how semantics can contribute to integrated monitoring solutions, and how these solutions can be aligned with global sustainable development goals.
