Hi everyone, we are gearing up to share news, ideas and inspiration
CELEBRATING COMMUNITY is a chance to come together and celebrate what's happening and share ideas for what's possible for the future. There are a number of movers and shakers who have already rsvp'd, they are coming to listen and see how they can help make things happen!
Make sure you register and spread the word for a packed out event
(please register for catering needs).
Sunday 5 June 2.00pm - 5.30pm Lancefield Mechanics Institute, corner High Street & The Cresent, Lancefield.
We have teed up a really interesting group of local people to share snap shots of their local projects and inspiration.
This includes Paula an 18year old netballer and Leanne Bakewell President of the Lancefield Footy Club; Jenny Stillman from the Romsey streetscape project; Vince Cafari of Benloch CFA who is creating a community hub and has ideas for a fire prevention program; Ari Sawyer, a 10 year old who works on projects in her community with The Field Trip; and Adam Bostanci from the Mega fauna festival sharing his vision for the future.
There will be opportunity for you to share your own projects and inspiration. So many innovative ideas were placed in the What Do You Reckon boxes and we will be sharing them and encouraging discussion to give you the opportunity to link up with existing initiatives and create your own ideas.
Afternoon tea and great conversations are included!
We met Sally at the Romsey Library and had a wonderful chat about ideas for the region. Sally would love to see walking tracks through people's properties so others can enjoy the beautiful landscapes in the area. She'd also like to see some sort of social awareness and cultural celebration of indigenous heritage, particularly around Mt William Quarry.
Lovely to chat to Gemma and John from the Mad Art Gallery about Celebrating Community. Gemma and John run music nights to bring people together in their town.
Hayley is on the committee of the Romsey Toy Library and helps out with grants. She's also a member of the Deep Creek Landcare group. Hayley would like to see a high school in Romsey and more jobs for young people
Wonderful to meet Brae from the Lancefield milk bar and find out what she'd like to see happen in her community. She's coming to the Celebrating Community event to have her say.
Celebrate your community, find out what is happening, and maybe start something new at Outside the Square!
