President Obama Meets with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince 

On the sidelines of the 2014 Nuclear Security Summit, President Barack Obama met with HH General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss developments in the region and reaffirm the strategic significance and importance of the bilateral relationship. US Commerce Secretary Leads Trade Mission to the UAE, America’s Largest Trading Partner in the Middle East

US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker led a delegation of 21 US companies on a mission to explore business opportunities in the UAE. Her visit followed the release of new data that showed US exports to the UAE in 2013 increased more than 8 percent from a year ago to $26.9 billion. The delegation met with Emirati leaders and business counterparts to explore collaboration on infrastructure projects in areas including renewable energy and transportation. During meetings with senior UAE government officials, Secretary Pritzker also reinforced how the robust UAE-US trade ties are also deepening security cooperation and other cultural partnerships. Learn More >

Emirates Adds Boston as 9th US Destination 

On March 10, Emirates Airline inaugurated daily nonstop service between Boston and Dubai. Boston joins New York, Washington, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle as US destinations for Emirates. Last year, Emirates announced a $76 billion order for US manufactured Boeing aircraft, committing to 150 777X units, the largest aircraft purchase in history. Learn More >

UAE Diplomats Tour the Peach State 

Ranking 13th among Georgia’s global export markets, the UAE is a significant trade partner of the state. To further strengthen this partnership, a delegation of UAE Embassy diplomats flew to Atlanta to meet with a wide range of stakeholders including government officials, representatives from local business and trade organizations, local high school students and educators, and members of the healthcare and energy sectors. Learn More >

This weekend, United States National Security Advisor Susan Rice met with senior officials in the United Arab Emirates, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Minister of Foreign Affairs HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They discussed regional issues of mutual interest including #Iran, #Syria and #Egypt and the US relationship with the Gulf Cooperation Council. Ambassador Rice also visited the NYU Abu Dhabi campus and expressed support for #UAE’s commitment to world class higher #education. See More >

On March 6, 2007, the UAE signed an intergovernmental agreement with France to open a branch of the Louvre on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island. The museum is expected to open in 2015.

The Global Aerospace Summit will take place in Abu Dhabi. Senior business leaders, government officials and other decision-makers from the aerospace, aviation, defense and space industries will gather for a series of networking sessions and meetings to discuss relevant issues.

APRIL 14 - APRIL 16, 2014

The Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Thousands of exhibitors will share best practices and new technologies and products in sustainability. 

MAY 25, 2014

NYU Abu Dhabi's inaugural commencement ceremony will take place at the university's new campus on Saadiyat Island. President Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States and founder of The Clinton Foundation, will be the keynote speaker.



At an Embassy reception promoting UAE’s Yahsat and Thuraya satellite communications companies, UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba welcomed former American astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second person to walk on the Moon. See Photo Gallery >
