UAE, US, and Other Nations Inaugurate Hedayah, the First International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism

Leaders from around the world participated in the third Global CounterTerrorism Forum hosted in Abu Dhabi by the UAE goverment. At the forum, government officials inaugurated Hedayah, the International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism. Hedayah will train prepare educators, religious and community leaders, as well as policymakers from around the world to identify and counter violent extremism. Learn More >

Inspired to promote the concept of tolerance, love and mutual understanding between different cultures, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque opened to the public on January 21, 2008. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the UAE and the eighth largest mosque in the world. It is equivalent to the size of five football fields and receives more than 40,000 people during Eid prayers.




Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2013 will take place at the Emirates Gulf Club. The tournament is a PGA European Tour sanctioned event and attracts some of the biggest names in golf.

UAE's Emirates Foundation for Youth Development Takatof volunteers, supported by UAE Embassy, Washington, DC spent a week volunteering alongside Habitat for Humanity to re-build homes In Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
