UAE-US Trade Continues Robust Growth

For 2012, US exports to the UAE surged by 40 percent from the previous year to over $22 billion, marking the fourth straight year that the UAE is the largest export market for US goods in the Middle East.  This growth is expected to continue in 2013, with more American companies expanding operations into the UAE, and continued Emirati investments in America.  Learn More >

UAE Military, US Central Command Lead Joint Multilateral Military Exercises

As part of the close bilateral security relationship and common resolve to preserve security and stability in the Gulf, Emirati and American armed forces led a 29-nation exercise aimed at spurring multilateral interoperability to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Also, as part of its deployment to the US 5th Fleet, the USS Rushmore recently visited Port Khalifa in Abu Dhabi. Learn More >

Growing Number of Nonstop Flights Bring the UAE and US Closer Together

Last year's launch of Emirates Airline's flights from Dubai to Dallas has been recognized by local community and business leaders as an economic boon to North Texas. On March 31st, Etihad Airways will begin commercial service from Abu Dhabi to Washington's Dulles airport, increasing to eight, the number of US cities served by UAE airlines.  Learn More >

On February 12, 1972 the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) met for the first time. The FNC's official mandate is to provide for public debate of legislation. Furthermore, the 40-member FNC discusses proposals and plans of various federal ministries, entities and public institutions. Since 2006, one-half of FNC members have been elected to serve four-year terms.
