UAE Foreign Minister His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan calls for UN support to settle dispute over occupied islands


In remarks to the UN General Assembly, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan asked UN members to urge Iran to peacefully resolve the dispute over the illegal occupation of three UAE islands in the Arabian Gulf.The UAE Foreign Minister also called for nations to work together to “remove tensions and crisis” from the Middle East region. Learn More >


UAE - US trade grows at record pace



For the first six months of 2012, trade between the UAE and US totaled over $12 billion, an over 50 percent increase from the same period of time last year.  Building on the robust trade relationship, senior UAE and US government officials met last month in Washington, DC for the second UAE-US Economic Policy Dialogue (EPD) meeting.  The EPD is a platform to increase economic and commercial cooperation between the UAE and US.   Learn More >

Emirates Airline begins non-stop service from Dubai to Washington, DC



The launch of the new nonstop Boeing 777 service between Dubai and Washington, DC underscores the deep bilateral relationship that exists between the United Arab Emirates and the United States. Washington  is Emirates' seventh US destination. Etihad Airways will also begin flying from Abu Dhabi to Washington beginning in March of 2013.  Learn More >
