Merry Christmas from Haiti!
December 2018

Dear Friends and Ministry Partners,

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your love, friendship and support for our ministry.

Keep reading to see what we've been up to lately.
Heather kept busy in 2018 with schooling the kids, coordinating activities for the missionaries and leading a women's Bible study.  In June she travelled to the Suriname jungle with Sean and got to hold a baby sloth!
2018 was a major travel year for Sean because of his regional leadership role with World Team.  Besides his regular teaching schedule in Haiti, he visited 12 countries, preached sermons in three languages, and brought his birding life list up to 593 species.
Ian adjusted well to life in the United States.  He loves CIU, his professors and new friends. He was in the play "Mousetrap", worked doing survey phone calls prior to the election and got high enough grades to stay in the honors program!  He is home in Haiti for Christmas; we're so glad to have him around for a while.
Erik, Ellie and Joey

Heather is homeschooling all three this year.  Heather also formed a youth choir which performed a medley in the Christmas program last week.

Next summer the five of us plan to join the children and youth ministry teams at the World Team - Europe conference as short-term members of Tychicus Ministries -- MK's serving MK's!
Erik is a junior this year.  He's now the oldest teenager on the mission center.

Joey is our avid sports fan.  He takes Algebra 2 and Biology at Cite Lumiere Christian School and is at home for the rest.

CLCS is always looking for missionary staff!
Ellie is doing homeschooling for the first time this year.  She's a teenager now and she enjoys keeping up with her friends here and online.
We recently took a long weekend driving seven hours to La Visite National Park south of Port au Prince.  At over 5000 feet, there is a protected pine forest, lots of flowers and a waterfall.  One night it got down to 45F.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

"But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons" (Galatians 4:4-5).
Praise and Prayer
  • We thank God for His provision for our support needs, for Ian's education and for the Bible School.  God is faithful and we trust Him as we serve Him.
  • Ian needs a job on-campus next semester.
  • Erik is considering various options for post-high school.  Pray for guidance.
  • Sean is working on some writing projects--pray for clarity and relevance.
  • Heather as she manages our home, homeschooling and ministry activities.
  • Haiti has been going through a political crisis that isn't resolved. Pray for peace and justice and for the church leaders to know how to lead during this period of instability and insecurity.
