Note From Our Executive Director

In 2006, I walked through the doors of ECHO and immediately fell in love with the mission. I began volunteering the very next week.  Coming back in the capacity of Executive Director has been absolutely exhilarating, as well as challenging.  The need in our community is so great...not simply for emergency food and clothes, but for job skills, GED certificates, money management education, and healthy living information.  In the few short weeks since my arrival, I have seen a single mother refine her resume and find employment, a homeless man walk away with a fresh backpack full of food and clothing, and a displaced mother of five receive enough food and supplies to start again.
ECHO is truly a beacon in our community and
I wake up every morning, energized by our bright future ahead.

A Success Story: Ashley

Ashley arrived in Florida for a fresh start.  She knew that in order to move out of her relative's home and adequately provide for her children, she needed to find a job...quick!   A family member suggested she use the free computer station at ECHO to tweak her resume.  Once at the center, she met our Director of Social Services, Sharmaine Burr who helped her make an appointment with our Career Transitions Consultant, Lori Libhart. Together they refined her resume to reflect a broader range of skills.  At her very first interview, she was complimented on her excellent resume...and the best part?  She got the job!
