A brief note from the Centre for Christian Studies

Shine Some Light Today!

the power to project light

New year’s Eve is a Midnight celebration in the depths of darkness when the sky is lit with fireworks and sparklers.  Even without the glitz, in the natural world light and dark live together. Without the dark we could not sleep. Without the shadows we would not appreciate the difference the light can make.
For Thomas Moore, “Christmas makes sense only if you know the experience of darkness–the experience of not knowing what is going on, not knowing your way, not seeing life for what it is, failing, losing and suffering. Then the turn toward light has a real impact.”

At the Centre for Christian Studies students are grounded in biblical values and learn how to reflect theologically on what they are learning so they illuminate their personal shadows.  Learning is about knowing yourself as much as it is about knowing concepts.  Knowing the dark in order to appreciate the light is a good basis for leading well.
You are an essential part of that learning and leading.  You make it possible with your gifts that support student learning at the Centre for Christian Studies.

It’s not too late to give this year.  If you still want to make a donation in 2016, give us a call TODAY at 204-783-4490.  I will be available to help you with your plans between 10 and 4 CST.

Or take a moment now to make an end of year investment of $25, $50, or $100 to ensure CCS students have an illuminating theological education.  You can click right here:

Your gift makes a difference. Thank you,
