New look

You may have noticed some appearance changes on the site. I swapped the font from Segoe Print to Supernett CN Light. It is a much more compact font that retains a casual, hand-drawn feel. I was never very satisfied with the mixed-case appearance of the old font. It was too close to Comic Sans, which many people hate, and is difficult to read quickly.

In the example below, we can see examples of the old font (top) and the new font (bottom) that allows for a larger sized font in the same space.

WWF Donations

From the outset, PMillustrated pledged to donate 10% of all profits to the World Wildlife Fund. The site has been operating at a loss, but we covered hosting costs this month and eked out a small gain. This month’s donation was modest ($30) but a significant milestone, and it was good to exercise the process.

Learning Type Personality Quiz

PMillustrated is for visual learners. However, there are other learning modes and preferences. So, I added a personality quiz type spinning wheel to the About this Site page to help people find their ideal PMP Prep approach.

Not new this month, but recent additions you may have missed include:

Paperback Book now Full Color

Initially, the paperback version of the PMillustrated book that features bonus content, not on the site, was only available in black and white. Now, the paperback book is full-color and features extra chapters on an introduction to agile, case studies for traditional, hybrid and agile life cycle selection. Plus, a chapter about PMP Exam Taking tips and also contains lots of valuable additional content not featured on the site.

Look out for exam pointers by Undercover Mole thoughout the content and full-page mindmaps of each Work Group taken from the PMillustrated Wall Poster.

Videos

40 videos have been uploaded to the site. Each task based module (such as “1.1 Manage Conflict” and “1.2 Lead a Team”, etc) has a 2-3 minute overview video outlining the major topics covered. There is also a website overview, curriculum overview and introduction to the new Udemy course.

Udemy Course with Joseph Phillips

The new Udemy course with Joseph Phillips is getting great reviews. Using illustrations from PMillustrated, Joe has created an online video course hosted on Udemy covering the entire exam content outline.

Up Next – Site Content and New Products

With the intro videos done, I will be updating the site images. I will also be creating more content for the LinkedIn study group.

There is also another partnership product in the works, likely not completed for June, but progress is being made and you will hear about it here first.
