Welcome to the October PM Illustrated Newsletter, providing the inside scoop on what’s new and what’s next.
PM Illustrated the Movie! (Well, a video book)
Do you prefer to consume content via audio books, or better yet, video books? I am partnering to create a professionally narrated video version of the PMillustrated book. It is progressing well with over 75% of the material recorded and edited already. Look out for announcements and an explanation of how it varies from the Udemy course in future newsletters.
I am collaborating on a Spanish prototype of PMillustrated so more people and trainers can access the site. Rather than use a translation plugin, each website element is being translated. Many of the graphics contain text so these need to be recreated then uploaded to a parallel site. (Actually, to save on hosting and plugin licensing costs, the Spanish version will likely be a sub-site of the main site accessed from a language selector icon on the main screen.) If anyone is interested in reviewing the Spanish version, please let me know email@example.com.
In mid-September some users experienced issues with badges not being awarded for correctly answering a quiz. That’s no fun, nor fair! It was caused by an update to the BadgeOS plugin used on the site. The new version was not recognizing badges created in the previous plugin versions and failed to award them for some users in certain conditions. I have rolled back to the previous version and am working with BadgeOS to fix the issue.
ICYMI (In case you missed it)
Not new this month, but recent additions you may have missed include:
Money Back Guarantee
For anyone on the fence about buying a full-site membership, PMillustrated now offers a money-back guarantee. I am confident that if you use this site properly to prepare for your PMP exam you will pass. So, what do you have to lose? Either pass the exam and gain the benefits of becoming a PMP credential holder or have your membership costs refunded.
To qualify, applicants need to demonstrate they have used the site by collecting all the task badges and score over 75% on the 50 Question timed quiz. That is it, no pages of fine-print rules. Just work your way through the site, test your knowledge as you go to earn badges and take the timed quiz. If you do this but are not successful in your PMP exam. Send me your failure notification for a full refund of your PM illustrated membership. Pass the exam or your money back, that’s a great deal!
Create a study group and use some peer pressure to keep yourself and friends accountable, and save some money too. Groups and organizations who sign up three or more members for Exam Prep – Full Access membership of 3-months receive a 20% discount. Just send the names and email addresses to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will send you a unique Discount Code good for 20% off the Exam Prep – Full Access membership.
Catchup up on old newsletters and see how the site has evolved. A new Newsletter Archive page has been added to easily browse and open previous copies of this newsletter.
Udemy - Now with 1,400+ Participants
The Udemy course with Joseph Phillips has over 1,400 participants and > 4.5 out of 5-star review ratings. Using illustrations from PMillustrated, Joe has created an online video course hosted on Udemy covering the entire exam content outline.
During October I will be working on creating the prototype Spanish site, reviewing the video book, and getting the badge issues resolved. In addition to these items, please tell me what else you would like to see on the site. You can use the Suggest a Change page, or the Get in Touch email link to the footer of every page.
Thanks for your interest in PM illustrated. Learning should be fun, and visual learning boosts comprehension and recall. I hope to build a truly valuable learning site for anyone studying project management. Thanks for being part of this process, and please let me know if you have any suggestions.
