Dear Members:

In our final newsletter for the year, I want to thank each and every one of you for your membership. When I think about our members, women of great accomplishment, commitment, passion and generosity of spirit, I am so honored to be among you as a member, and to have been the President of IWF Georgia for the past two years. This Forum has always been considered one of the stronger forums in the country, based on our membership, high level of participation and successful hosting of two Global Conferences. We should all be so proud of an organization that brings women together in venues and forums that provide open dialog, exchange of ideas, and opportunity to find ways to support women in all that we do. I am indeed both proud and grateful.
Holiday Party at Carol Tome’s
We are so very appreciative of Ramon and Carol Tomé opening up their beautiful home and hosting us for our Annual Holiday Party. It was the best turnout ever for our Holiday Party with 120 members and significant others, and I know everyone enjoyed the evening tremendously.  Please join me again in thanking Carol and Ramon. Enjoy some of the pictures here and on our website,

Upcoming Programs
The invitations are out!!  Do not miss our program on January 10th, Addiction Confidential. It will be a very insightful program on this growing societal issue that touches each and everyone of us in some way. And you do not want to miss the first retreat in several years, February 23-24 at Serenbe with a very exciting program.  Visit, for details on upcoming events and to register.
New Members

We have welcomed seventeen new members into IWF Georgia, and what an amazing group they are!!   Many of them were at our Holiday Party and I hope you take the opportunity to get to know each and every one of them.
New By-Laws
We will shortly have new by-laws that bring our Forum up-to-date on best governance practices, and for the first time, will define categories of Membership.
IWF Global

The global organization, with new CEO Stephanie Mathews O’Keefe, is already undertaking some very impressive new initiatives that will continue to strengthen IWF globally and continue to find paths to leadership on issues and opportunities that both develop leaders and support women everywhere. One of those is a global member survey, for which we will have the Georgia results this spring.
Board of Directors

My personal thanks to the 2016 Board of Directors for being so engaged, supportive, and willing to take IWF Georgia to the next level.  It has been “awesome” working with all of you and my deep and heartfelt thanks.   And a special thanks to the outgoing board members after six or more years of service:  Penny McPhee; Shirley Mitchell, Henna Inam and Annette Cone-Skelton.
And a welcome to the new Board of Directors for 2017, that includes new Board members Mary Moore, Candy Berman, Erica Qualls Bettey, Beverly Thomas, and Teya Ryan.   Under Kathy Bremer’s leadership as President, it will be “the best board ever”, or so Kathy tells me.  For 2017-18, Andrea Young is Vice President, Susan Bell Treasurer, and Liz Blake Secretary of the Board.

Holiday Wishes
And finally, wishing each and everyone a Merry Christmas,  Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa or other Holiday, and a wonderful New Year.   May you be safe, grateful, content and joyous through the coming days.
