Tell Us What You Think: Health Canada Narcotics Inspections

Prior to OPA Board meetings, we’re asking all members to weigh in on key issues affecting pharmacy practice today. Your input will play a valuable role in our Board discussions.

This month’s topic is Health Canada narcotics inspections. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts by participating in a short online survey.

The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete and will be available until end of day on November 18, 2016.
Please be assured that your responses will be reported in aggregate and will not be attributed to any one individual member. We will be sharing an update from the Board meeting, as well as the survey results in the weeks following the Board meeting.

Considering a Career in the Long-Term Care or Residential Care Pharmacy Sector?

The Ontario Pharmacists Association's Orientation to Pharmacy in Long-Term Care and Residential Care Facilities online program is an introductory course to long-term care (LTC). The goal is to provide participants with an overview of the LTC and residential care sectors, describe the nature of pharmacy practice as it pertains to these practice settings, and familiarize participants with some of the key regulatory requirements and terminology common to these practice environments. Strategies to minimize adverse drug reactions and optimize medication use in older persons, and basic principles of medication therapy management (MTM) in elderly patients are also addressed.
We acknowledge the participation and support of the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy in the development of this program.
