What is your dream job?

This is a question we normally ask children and we tend to ignore this as we get older, but what is your dream job?

If you could do anything in the world, forgetting that sickle cell is a thing, what would you do?

I tend to ask a lot of questions that I don’t know the answer to myself, but I know that my job would somehow be linked to helping people.

Have you noticed and symptoms of sickle cell that surprised you?

Recently, whilst asleep my friend noticed that my pulse could be seen very prominently on my neck. Research then showed that it is called a bounding pulse, and it is not uncommon for people who are anaemic.

There is very little research / medical advisory on SCD and the Coronavirus. ???

I have been searching for information about the interactions of the Coronavirus and SCD. How much at risk are those living with SCD? We keep on hearing about the elderly, those with underlying medical conditions (without mentioning specifics except asthma and other respiratory illnesses) and the pregnant. I found only one medical resource journal that specifically mentioned Sickle Cell Disease amongst other illnesses vulnerable to succumbing to the Coronavirus. If anyone has any further information or advise please kindly share. Thanks
