Supporter Spotlight!
It is a beautiful thing when people come together and help! Through the donations received from private and corporate supporters, we were recently able to purchase eight new twin bed sets from Extreme Mattress. The owner, George Costello added two extra twin sets to our order as a donation. The ten beds were set to be delivered to recipients through Genesee Orleans Ministry of Concern. Unfortunately, GOMOC’s delivery truck was broken down. So, without a truck, our friend Amy Monti took the lead and offered to help. Extreme Mattress delivered the ten mattresses to her home.
 Amy cleared out one side of their garage – her husband Dave gave up his side – and allowed the ten mattresses to be stored there until they could be delivered to those who were vetted to receive them. To help get the beds to the families sooner than later, Amy and her friends Peter and Cathy Dauphin from Holy Trinity Parish delivered five of the mattresses with a trailer borrowed from another family. GOMOC also got a new delivery truck and was able to pick up and deliver the other mattresses, too.
Amy made sure that each bed was delivered with a new bed pillow and new or gently used  bedding from the GOMOC supply room. The beds went to ten children ranging from ages 2 to 18. At each delivery, a brief story of Beds from Brian and a blank thank you note were provided to the family to return to GOMOC if they wished. Thank you cards have been received. Here are a few of the words of thanks:
- “My kids were so happy for the beds.”
- “Thank you for sharing your story – life is precious.”
- “It all makes my room look like a bedroom now.”
- “To and with much appreciation. May God bless you all.”
- “Thank you so very much for the beds, we appreciate them so very much.”
