Office updates
  • Our Office Manager Amber Warwick has been working hard and bulking up her annual leave in order to enjoy her overseas experience in USA and Europe. This is a photo of Amber and Nick at Disneyland, and they look rather excited. Amber will be out of the office for 6 weeks, and we have Amy Mauer filling in while Amber is away. Same email address and telephone number for all your booking requests and general inquiries.
  • Our Term 4 (Oct, Nov, Dec) newsletter with all the latest news and programmes is due very soon in the next few weeks. If you are on our mail out database you should expect this in your letterbox, or if you are not then the newsletter will be available online. We again ask for patience as we process all the requests, and we look forward to getting these programmes and adventures started!
  • A few weeks ago on Tuesday 11th August we hosted our Opening Event here at our new Recreate offices. It was so good to see you there and have some good yarns. We really appreciate your support and we are very excited about our future at Windmill Road. Thank you to Auckland Council Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse for officially opening the premises and to all our speakers on the night.
Programmes update

  • Seeking Summits. Last weekend our young adventurers climbed to the roof of the North Island, Mt Ruapehu! After attempting the ascent last year with no luck due to poor weather conditions, this year we had a truly magical window of 2 ideal days to fit in the skills session and the climb itself. This was definitely our biggest adventure to date, and we are so thankful to Adventure Specialties for overseeing the climb, Attitude TV for jumping on board (more on this soon) and to RAL for their on mountain support. We are so proud of our whole team, and we can't wait to see this adventure on the screen, watch this space!
  • This past month we have also had a wide variety of programmes happen such as our short breaks to Piha, Mangawhai and Scandrett Park, Urban Mid Winter dinner party, Urban Burger Burger night, Katies my break to Disney On Ice. Our recent longer term programmes include Moxie where our Orchard Project guys have started to pick lemons for wholesale and Life Skills with consistent great successes. So much going on, so little time to talk about it!
Competition time!

Our friends at Kiwi Karma are running a great competition worth over $10,000 where you could be off to Disneyland. Remember next time you book your travel please use Kiwi Karma, as at no extra cost to you 5% of your spend is donated to us. Click here to enter the draw!

Brent Jenkin's fundraiser: Himalaya Challenge

Following on from Brent's Kilimanjaro climb last year, he has decided to attempt Mera Peak in Nepal Oct/Nov 2015. The purpose is to fundraise for Recreate NZ, as we continue to renovate our new premises by installing a commercial kitchen. Brent has a givealittle page where you can donate to the cause and be informed of his progress. We will also have updates through our online and mailout newsletters. Check it out here.
