THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO MEDICINE
MANAGED CARE MOVE

CHICAGO, IL

Working closely with the University of Chicago Medicine, AKA converted an existing patient wing into an office suite, which includes offices, conference rooms, and an open office. The project also involved relocating an executive conference room which required a new vertical platform lift. In order to solve the main design challenge of integrating a vertical platform lift (which comes in basic standard designs) with the unique wood paneling of the corridor, AKA used wood detailing to mimic the existing aesthetic of the corridor. DUNKIN DONUTS

WHEATON, IL

Following Dunkin's latest design and brand standards, AKA designed this state-of-the-art shop. The new stye features high-end finishes creating a modern and trendy look. The shop is located in a multi-tenant commercial building; AKA coordinated the interior buildout with the building's architect to ensure successful project completion.

METHODE

HARWOOD HEIGHTS, IL

Many advanced technological devices were incorporated into this space. The area was designed as both a testing/simulation laboratory and exhibition space for this company's product. To address the Client's main concern regarding smells and sounds traveling from the lab to the adjacent offices, walls were constructed to the underside of the deck with membrane to block odor migration. Doors were also constructed as hermetically sealed. The mechanical system was also designed to ensure that there is no recirculation of the lab's air back into the rest of the building.
