Maybe, just maybe, the month of June will bring us pleasant weather here on the east coast. But what we can guarantee at your favorite local bookstore is a month full of fabulous events. We’re so happy to be bringing perennially bestselling author Emma Straub to the store for her latest novel, Modern Lovers. She is joined by debut novelist Elisabeth Egan to start off June. Star Trek fans with an interest in finance should be here for our event with Manu Saadia who will chat with Huffington Post business reporter Ben Walsh on his book Trekonomics. Later in the month we welcome Ann Patty and Mary Norris to chat about life after retirement. Round it out with YA authors chatting and waiters bitching and you’ve got yourself a pretty eclectic mix of events to attend.
And, as always, if you'd like to get reminders via text you can join our "events class" at You'll get one (at most, sometimes less) hand-crafted text a day with event information, through the magic of technology!

For grammar nerds:
Ann Patty presents Living with a Dead Language in conversation with Mary Norris
Wednesday, June 22, 7:30 pm

After 35 years as a book editor in NYC, Ann Patty stopped working and moved to the country. Bored, aimless, and lost in the woods, she decided to challenge her restless, word-loving brain by beginning a serious study of Latin. Living with a Dead Language is her eloquent, loving tribute to a dead language that isn’t so dead after all and an inspiring memoir about finding renewed purpose through learning something new and challenging. She will be joined by fellow word-lover Mary Norris (Between You & Me: Confessions of a Comma Queen) to chat about the literary world of NYC, an addiction to grammar, and life after retirement.

RSVP encouraged, but not required.
