Rob Sheffield and Amanda Petrusich playing David Bowie records in our Brooklyn store in celebration of Sheffield's latest book On Bowie

Happy August!  We have just a few fabulous book events this month. First up, Greenpointer’s very own journalist-turned-novelist Kim Masson will be here for a  Craig’s List Chronicles book party on 8/3 for a light-hearted take on the website all us New Yorkers love to hate. Literary queen Charlotte Shane has put together yet another fantastic Bad Advice from Bad Women lineup for 8/11 themed around the five year anniversary of one of our favorite literary projects, Emily Books. On 8/13, our friendly neighborhood writers group will be strutting their stuff, and on 8/25, beloved friend-of-WORD Tobias Carroll and his talented posse are reading and chatting about Carroll’s Transitory. And to top off the month with cupcakes and prosecco, we’re honored to once again host romance novelist and genre advocate Sarah MacLean for the launch of A Scot in the Dark on 8/30.

Stay cool and get reading!

All best,
