Get ready for the #EDD16 !
The European Development Days take place in a week in Brussels. We are looking forward to meeting you there and discussing the latest topics in Development with you.
Below, we have chronologically compiled a list of events which we, our confederation, our members or our partners, are hosting or organising during these 2 days. We invite you to bookmark these sessions in your calendar and we hope you will find this compilation useful.
CONCORD in the Opening Panel
Using the opportunity of this newsletter, we warmly encourage you to attend The Opening Ceremony of the EDDs 2016 during which CONCORD Europe will represent Civil Society Organisations in the high-level panel discussion.
CONCORD advocated strongly for a Civil Society voice on the high level opening panel of Development Days. Following an invitation from Commissioner Mimica, CONCORD President Johannes Trimmel asked human rights lawyer and women’s rights activist Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda (General Secretary of the YWCA, chair of CIVICUS and the International Board of ActionAid) to represent the confederation and civil society. Nyaradzayi will speak alongside Jean-Claude Juncker, Ban Ki Moon, Uhuru Kenyatta and other heads of state to highlight the major role and perspectives of of civil society.
If you cannot attend this big event, the session will be available on the EuropeAid Youtube channel and you can follow the conversation on Twitter using #EDD16 and #CSO4dev.
For more information, please contact Sabine Terlecki.
Enjoy the compilation and see you at the EDDs!
