WFN’s Ultimate Fishing Town Contest

Grand Rapids, Minnesota made it into the finals of the World Fishing Network’s Ultimate Fishing Town Contest. Visit Grand Rapids, the destination marketing organization, entered Grand Rapids, MN into the contest to promote the vast fishing opportunity that is available in the Grand Rapids area. Only 11 communities with the top votes made it into the final round of voting. The final voting round runs May 3th to May 24.
Grand Rapids has an opportunity at one of the cash prizes (Grand Prize: $25,000, and Five Regional Prizes: $3,500). Each prize level is determined based on the highest number of votes per town and region. Visit Grand Rapids has plans to use the prize winnings to further promote fishing in Minnesota’s nature (their community branding). “We would love the opportunity to be able to highlight fishing more, and to be able to reach out to more advid anglers around the Midwest”, states Christianson.
