Over the course of the next 16 days an enewsletter will be sent to each member. The top half of the post will have an informational email with information that you can share on social media and the bottom will have links to graphics that can also be added to your Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts. We have worked to combine the email and social media links into one post to reduce mailings, while providing you with as much information as possible. Happy posting!

Tomorrow marks the start to the 16 Days of Activism, and the annual focal time of the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign.

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence begin today, November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and end on International Human Rights Day on December 10th.

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was designated in 1999 by the United Nations General Assembly. The date was chosen to commemorate the lives of the Mirabal sisters from the Dominican Republic who were violently assassinated in 1960. The day pays tribute to them, as well as urging global recognition of gender violence. Each year on this day, governments, international organizations and NGOs are invited to organize activities designed to raise public awareness of the problem.

If you can, please join people around the world in wearing something orange tomorrow.
