Building Our Future:
Transitions, Changes & New Opportunities Accomplished Through Teamwork

Hello <<First Name>>

Thank you to all of you that joined me and the D4 Membership Committee for an online learning session on Aug. 15th. Please find the presentation PDF and video on our D4 website Online Learning Page, if you were unable to attend.

The D4 Membership Committee is comprised of Tanya Tagwerker - Area 1, Dianne Sison - Area 2, Donna Monaco - Area 3, Cheri Magin - Area 4, Julie Kleinberger - Area 5 & Nancy Crouthamel - Area 6. These ladies have accepted my invitation to help me as your Membership Chairperson to increase touch points between our district and clubs. Our goals are to help you
  • build healthy and happy clubs;
  • increase member engagement with District 4/other clubs and Zonta International;
  • to work with D4 Communications to help members and clubs promote who and what we do so well.

I NEED YOUR HELP!
Zonta International is a little slow to update me on our clubs’ membership roster. Presidents, I need your club's current membership listing and the contacts for your club's committees, including email address and contact number. Please send to your AD prior to September 19th, unless you have already sent it on to District. This will aid me, and our District 4 Committees to contact the appropriate person when we need to send essential information to you.

I look forward to "meeting" club presidents, membership chairpersons/committees in the coming weeks and get to know you as district members as we move into this new biennium.

Be well in mind and body!

In service,
Sheena Poole,
D4 Membership Chairperson

From ZI District 4 United Nations Chair Nita McCown

On Monday, August 31st many of our members participated in a virtual Town Hall meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and moderated by UN Women Executive Director, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

The Townhall was an opportunity for women’s civil society organizations from around the world to engage with the UN Secretary-General on the issue of the COVID-19 crisis, sharing their experiences of the impact of the pandemic and their recommendations to the UN in addressing the crisis and rebuilding a more sustainable and inclusive future, as well as its role in protecting and promoting women’s rights and agency within this new context.
