Dear <<First Name>>

Welcome Fall! Pumpkins, cider, frost, vibrant colors. This is my favorite time of year. It is also the time of year when activities begin again after a relaxing summer. Zonta members have been preparing during the summer to start their club’s new Zonta journey. Let us begin together as a team!
District 4 has also been busy planning events for members. We had a our first D4 Talks in September to ready clubs for the 16 Days of Activism. If you missed the conversation, check it out on the District 4 website. Our next D4 Talks will be on Monday, November 5, 2020 with Amelia Earhart Committee. Join in to see how your club can celebrate Amelia Earhart. Our first D4 Learning will be Monday, October 5, 2020. Books N Beverages will be on Monday, October 19, 2020. Join the conversation. We will review the book Leaders Eat Last by Simon Senek. No worries if you haven’t read the book! Join us for conversation with other members in District 4.
District 4 has a new Website! Please take a moment and review. A wealth of information is available at your fingertips. It is a work in progress and changes are always happening.
Zonta International has updated Zonta Says No. There is a lot of information available to you for the 16 Days of Activism. Every Member Every November fundraising campaign will begin November 1, 2020. Get ready for the District Challenge. More information coming soon.

My family and friends have teased me about my desk being the Command Center for everything I do. As our new website says, Reporting from the Command Center.
Stay safe and let us all remember to keep in contact with family, friends and sister Zontians at this time in our lives. Empowered Women Empower the World.

 Hello Presidents
I sent out a membership communication via a Membership MailChimp on Sept 14th to request a casual conversation with you, your club membership chair and committee about your club, how COVID is affecting your club and any membership concerns.  I have not had replies from many of you. I ask that you please review your email inbox, junk/spam or promotional folders to retrieve and respond to my request.
Thank you.
Sheena Poole,
D4 Membership Chairperson
Muriel Omand-Naylor (Zonta Club of KW), Caitlyn McComb (Anishnabeg Outreach) and Brenda Graham (Zonta Club of KW)

Hello from the D4 Service Committee. Our members are Judy Powers, Kathie Nichter and Brenda Graham, Chair, and we are here to help and guide you on questions about Service projects during this biennium. It's an unusual time with the pandemic, and might make us think outside the box for project ideas that fit with the covid protocols. First, we know that our district encompasses both US and Canadian clubs, and acknowledge the covid protocols are different in the two countries, so one area may have more flexibility than the other at times.

We have confirmed in both the US and Canada that the Birthing Kit shipping locations are accepting our kits and shipping them, as there is a great need with the pandemic. The Zonta Club of Kitchener Waterloo is holding a Birthing Kit assembly, covid style on October 24th. All processes will be completed ahead of the assembly by individual members at home, using covid protocols...masks and gloves. Then they will be assembled by 10 members, working at individual tables, six feet apart. If you would like information about completing Birthing Kits in general, or special accomadations during covid, please email Brenda Graham and Judy Powers at service

Several clubs have sewn masks for local groups. The Zonta Club of KW has had two mask projects. One for the Anishnabeg Outreach Resource Centre to go out in spirit bundles for individuals who needed support and a second for their local YWCA Centre. If your club is interested and would like more information, please email Brenda Graham at Additional projects that are being completed in the district involve donations of hygiene kits to sexual assault centres, domestic violence centres and rape centres at hospitals, donating pajamas and sanitary products for women's centres and donating bras for Free The Girls. We will be updating the D4 website under service with more information.

As always, we encourage you to promote your projects thru social media, on your website, thru D4 News and by sharing pictures and ideas with other clubs. We are always looking for new ideas, let us know!
Brenda Graham, D4 Service Chair
