, being held
at St. Paul's Landmark Center the weekend of October 25-27. The show is free and open to
the public. This year's winning poster submission, Ethan Heidlebaugh's "Time Tunnel,” appears at right.
Artability is an annual celebration of the
creativity and artistic contributions of people
with mental illness to our community. The fall show features hundreds of pieces of art, from landscapes and nature photography to anime, abstracts, poetry and more. This year’s exhibition also will feature a special installation of artworks by people living with auditory hallucinations. This art will include use of the recording technology contained in audible greeting cards to play back some of the voices the participants experience in their everyday lives.
Landmark Center is located at 75 W 5th St, in St Paul.
The full Artability Show & Sale schedule is as follows:
Friday, October 25 6pm-9pm, Cortile
Saturday, October 26 11am-5pm, Courtroom #317
Sunday, October 27 11am-4pm, Courtroom #317
An opening night program will take place on Friday, with ASL interpreters present. Highlights will include live Baroque musical performances, award presentations, and voting for the annual People's Choice Award.
Artability is vital to the work of People Incorporated in helping individuals living with mental illness to work toward achieving their goals related to living independent and hopeful lives. The show is a source of inspiration and pride for the area’s mental health community, and encourages artists to explore their interests, share their love of art and gain confidence in their skills.
We hope to see you there!
