Latest news from the UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering
As UCL prepares to close for the Easter holidays, we reflect on a busy term full of research excellence and activity. The IHE has held seven research workshops in areas like like cardiovascular health, application of physics to cancer, healthy ageing and engineering for respiratory, hosted five leading Colloquium speakers from across the globe and recently merged with the formerly named Institute of Digital Health.
We have also spent the last week in Delhi, India developing partnerships with AIIMS and IIT, world-renowned centres of innovation in affordable technologies. We're excited to be advancing our international collaborations and will be announcing more at our Global Healthcare Engineering Symposium at UCL on 8 July - save the date!
We begin next term with a lunchtime Colloquium talk on 'Finding Your Way' from Prof Athene Donald, who has been a vocal advocate for women and diversity in science throughout her prestigious career. We hope to see you there on 1 May.
Finally, I'd like to draw your attention to a workshop we are co-hosting on 3 June with the Institute of Ophthalmology, focused on engineering solutions to ophthalmology's clinical challenges. A funded PhD studentship will be available for activity arising from this day, find out more and register.
Read on to find out more news, events, engagement and funding opportunities. I hope everyone enjoys a lovely and restful Easter break!
Best wishes,
Dr Rebecca Shipley
Director, UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering
