Club v Club - who's on your team?

Last year's race saw the rise of team entries again - and this prompted the NZ Multihull Yacht Club to look at the rules around this race within the race. Details were notified in early September in Amendment 2 of the Notice of Race, found on the Regatta Documents webpage or in the race App.

Essentially - teams are assembled of four boats from the same club and this year, multihulls are eligible to be ranked alongside monohulls. The first team to enter is representing Wakatere Boating Club: Exodus, Beau Geste, Lovaluck and Surreal.

Insurance insights: things to be aware of when buying a piece of paper

Dan Garner of PIC Insurance Brokers took a good chunk of time out of a busy day to write down some market insights and top tips for buying insurance...

"Insurance is never going to be the most exciting thing in your life, I hope. For most people, until something (probably bad) happens, insurance is just a piece of paper that’s thrown into the bottom of a drawer, or just another email in an ever-growing inbox.

By definition, “Insurance is a contract, represented by a policy, in which an individual or entity receives financial protection or reimbursement against losses…” There are loads of types of insurance, each with a huge range of conditions and requirements. Most people are broadly aware of what they’re covered for, how many read the various documents and policy wordings, taking the time to truly understand them? Not many… if any. Read on

Plan Ahead for Westhaven Parking

Westhaven Marina have notified us that all competitors should consider sharing transport or using alternative transport options during this busy 'Year of Construction' for the Marina, as especially during the PIC Coastal Classic on Labour Weekend, visitor carparks will not be sufficient. There will be infringements issued and in some cases towing - so please plan ahead and thank you for your patience.
