Tomorrow we welcome October, the PIC Coastal Classic month and the definitive start to the summer boating season. Whether this year is a drifter or a battle all the way from Auckland to Russell we can't predict, but we know how important this race is to the NZ sailing community and will deliver a great weekend on the water, just as we have for the last 38 years.

Entries close on the 9th of October. To avoid late entry fees, please make sure you also complete your entry at this time with full payment, PHRF certificate, Cat 3 (minus liferaft) certificate, and your crew list.  Yachting New Zealand has advised that they will not accept late applications for safety inspections or PHRF.

Don't forget that we will put every entered boat's name on the back of the tees this year too, so this is an extra incentive to have your entry completed (and Zhik merchandise order in) before October 9th!

The PIC Coastal Classic's Great Advice Night on Monday 21 September was surprisingly well attended given the gridlock traffic situation in central Auckland. Luckily, all of the guest presenters including Emma Sanderson, Brad Marsh, Simon Hull, Daniel Garner (PIC Insurance Brokers) and Megan Kensington (Race Director) were able to attend and share in a live Q&A session moderated by Suellen Hurling.

For those that weren't able to make it - we've compiled a report of their best advice and took a recording for you to catch up in your own time. Thanks again to everybody who pulled together to make this event happen including PIC Insurance Brokers, Doyle Sails, 36 Degrees Brokers and Live Sail Die.

For spectators, this is the best place to stay up to date on race news and the yacht tracker during the race. If you're a competitor, this is your solution for quick references to the Notice of Race, and those sneaky checks to see who is entered in your division.

It's all refreshed and ready for 2020, download from Google Play or the App Store

As you are likely to know well, the construction at Westhaven Marina continues with both the Marine Village and the Promenade Stage 2. Guest Parking is considerably restricted (especially over Labour Day long weekend), and we strongly suggest planning a carpool well in advance.

Westhaven have advised that they will not tow/ticket from 3:00pm Thursday 22nd October until 3:00pm Wednesday 28th October from the white spaces. They will however, tow/ticket vehicles from the yellow birth holder spaces if they are not registered properly in the digital system.
