After a few months without anywhere near enough time on the water, the NZ Multihull Yacht Club is very pleased to announce that the 2020 PIC Coastal Classic is going ahead.

“We’ve certainly noticed the pent-up demand within our community and will do whatever we need to make this year another great one – on and off the water” says NZMYC commodore Greer Houston in a recent article about the race planned for Friday 23 October 2020.

The Notice of Race is available, and organizers are now taking entries online, so it's time to put that date into your smartphone calendar, book your leave, and start getting ready for the traditional labour weekend race up to Russell.

Thanks again must go to our principal partner, PIC Insurance Brokers for their continued support again - without them this race simply would not be possible.
NOTICE OF RACE

How do we sign up?

We use the Top Yacht system, so if you have entered a race with this system recently your data and Cat 3 & handicap details should be saved.

All entrants require a minimum of the Category 3 Safety Certificate (minus a life raft) issued by Yachting New Zealand, and hold a valid handicap - PHRF, IRC or Multihull.

REMINDER: TIME TO RENEW YOUR PHRF AND IRC
PHRF's expired on May 31, so keelboat owners who intend to race in preparation for the PIC Coastal Classic are advised to revalidate now. There have been no amendments to the PHRF rules for the 2020/21 season.
Clean Hulls help stop the spread of marine pests. As lovers of the coastline from Auckland to Russell, lets all do our part to make sure we don't take marine pests with us on the Great Race North!
LAST YEAR WAS ONE FOR THE RECORDS
How great was last year's race? Not only was a new record set of 5hr 37 seconds by Beau Geste, everybody that finished did so within 20 hrs. Even the cruising rally had a fast blast!  Check out the results and official photography.
